Walking Dead director Greg Nicotero teases Daryl Dixon spinoff in Paris
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead is quickly approaching the series’ final episode, which will air on November 20. Luckily fans have much to look forward to with several spinoff series that will carry on the stories of some fan-favorite characters. The Walking Dead: Dead City has a release date set for April 2023, production for the Rick and Michonne series will begin soon, and the Daryl Dixon series is currently filming in France.
Norman Reedus, who has portrayed Daryl Dixon since season 1 of The Walking Dead, recently teased fans with a social media post announcing the beginning of filming for his series. Details are vague at this time, but he will make his way to France unwillingly. Daryl will also encounter the variant walkers seen in the code of the series finale of The Walking Dead: World Beyond spinoff. This could prove quite interesting as that walker appeared stronger and faster than walkers seen in the United States.
TWD director and SFX master Greg Nicotero teased fans with a photo on Instagram with a caption that simply said, “A Paris.” The corpse seen here is beautifully grotesque, precisely what fans expect from Nictoero and his KNB crew.
Daryl Dixon spinoff
Fans are eager to see what’s next in the stories of Daryl and the other character that will be featured in the spinoff series. Reedus has teased that Daryl and Carol’s (Melissa McBride) story isn’t over, giving fans hope that McBride will return to the fandom after taking a much-needed break.
Reedus has also teased that fans will have to wait and see if Daryl encounters some familiar faces during his new journey. Cassady McClincy, who plays Lydia in the flagship series, was recently seen in Paris. Coincidence? Or could Lydia travel with Daryl to France?
