Walking Dead: Will Cassady McClincy star in Daryl Dixon spinoff?

Recently Norman Reedus posted on Instagram that filming for the Daryl Dixon spinoff series has begun in France. This is exciting news as The Walking Dead quickly approaches the last episode of the series. Fans are anxious to see all the upcoming spinoffs, of which The Walking Dead: Dead City will be the first to release in April 2023.

Although the Daryl series has been kept quiet so far, we know he will be in France, arriving there unwillingly, waking up, and finding himself there, and he will encounter the French variant walkers seen in the post-credits scene of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. But, Reedus has teased during several interviews that Daryl could encounter some familiar faces on his new journey.

Fans have speculated who could be joining him. Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Rick (Andrew Lincoln), and Michonne (Danai Gurira) are all out because they will star in spinoffs of their own. But many others could join Daryl in France.

One character who could follow Daryl would be Lydia. The pair have bonded over the years with their shared childhood traumas and everything they have experienced. Early on, Daryl showed an interest in protecting Lydia, most likely because no one ever protected him from the abuses he endured.

And eagle-eyed fans have noticed something interesting. Cassady McClincy, who plays Lydia, is current in Paris, France. This could be a coincidence, but Lydia would be a character that would make perfect sense to pair with Daryl.

This would make for an exciting storyline in the new spinoff. Only time will tell if Lydia and Daryl meet again in this series.
