As The Walking Dead series draws to a close, fans seek what to watch until the spinoff series begins airing in 2023. Tales of the Walking Dead is the newest spinoff that began airing in the Summer of 2022. This series is a standalone series set within The Walking Dead universe, but you can view this series without watching any of the other TWDU series.

Tales of the Walking Dead is an episodic anthology series that brings new characters to TWDU story, and each episode is set in a different location around the US. If you are a loyal viewer of the flagship series, there are many Easter Eggs throughout this series, and episode 3 features a familiar character, Alpha (Samantha Morton).

This series also allowed many amazing actors to join TWD Family, including Oliva Munn, Jessie T. Usher, Danny Ramirez, Loan Chabanol, Embeth Davitz, Lauren Glazier, Daniella Pineda, Terry Crews, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Liu, Parker Posey, Julian Bell, Matt Medrano and more.

Tales of the Walking Dead episodes

The first season consisted of six episodes that are all available on AMC+.

101 – “Evie/Joe” – starring Crews and Munn

102- “Blair/Gina” – starring Posey, Bell, and Medrano

103- “Dee” – Mortan and Glazier

104- “Amy/Dr. Everett” – Edwards and Liu

105- “Davon” – starring Usher and Davidtz

106- “La Doña” – starring Ramirez and Pineda

Each episode has its merits, and this writer’s top three are “Dee,” “Amy/Dr. Everett,” and “Davon.” I honestly liked all the episodes because they featured diverse stories, new characters, and a change of pace from The Walking Dead, which is what you want in a spinoff series.

There is no news about the second season of Tales of TWD, but it definitely deserves another season. Showrunner Channing Powell shared that they have written at least 25 episodes of this series.
