That’s a wrap on The Walking Dead series. After 12 years, 11 seasons, and 177 episodes, the fantastic “zombie series” has concluded. This series is so much more than stories about the undead. The characters have been brought to life by some of the most amazing actors around and has created TWD Family, which is much more than a title given to fans, cast, and crew of the series. AMC has released a massive amount of behind-the-scenes photos of the final episode, and many will bring you to tears knowing these were some of the last moments our cast spent together.
This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead’s series finale episode, “Rest in Peace.”
As you look through the photos, you will see most of your favorite cast members. Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride have portrayed two noteworthy characters, Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, since season 1. These two showed up in episode 2, “Tell it to the Frogs,” and they became best friends throughout the series due to many factors.
The finale episode has pleasantly surprised fans, as many believe there was no way to end this series on a positive note. As sad as the ending was, there were many reasons to rejoice. We saw some great conversations, Pamela Milton (Laila Robins) is in her rightful place, and Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) made an appearance.
