Actress and comedian Jillian Bell joined The Walking Dead universe this summer for her role as Gina on an episode of the spinoff series Tales of the Walking Dead. Bell’s Gina and Parker Posey’s Blair experienced a time-warped episode that took place in Atlanta during the onset of the outbreak. Well-known for her numerous comedy roles, Bell has been cast in Charlie Day’s untitled film.

Formerly known as El Tonto, Day’s new film, which he wrote and stars in, will mark the actor’s directorial debut. The film’s synopsis is rather vague, revealing that the story follows a fool for love, played by Day, who becomes a celebrity and loses it all.

Bell is in good company with the additional cast consisting of Travis Fimmel, Adrien Brody, Kate Beckinsale, Jason Sudeikis, Katherine McNamara, Ken Jeong, Glenn Howerton, John Malkovich, Ray Liotta, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Edie Falco.

Jillian Bell stars in Charlie Day’s film

Earlier this year, Day told SlashFilm that he is still actively working on the project with his extra special mentor, Guillermo del Toro, who encouraged Day “to make this movie what you want it to be.”

Little other information has been released for the film, so it is unclear what parts Jillian Bell and the other actors will play in this story. The one significant change Day discussed with del Toro and then implemented gave Jeong a much more substantial role where fans will still see his comedic skill shine, but the part is also quite emotional, according to Day.

Jillian Bell – upcoming roles

Bell is well known for her roles in Brittany Runs a Marathon, Bill & Ted Face the Music, American Dad!, Bless the Harts, Bob’s Burgers, and I’m Totally Fine.
