The Walking Dead classic scene season 7 episode 9 Rock in the Road
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead has concluded its story after 11 seasons, but fans will never stop watching this fantastic series. In January 2023, the entire series will be available to stream on Netflix, making it easier to binge. It is exciting to look back and watch some of the most fantastic scenes, for example, the one in the season 7 midseason premiere “Rock in the Road,” where Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) kill a horde of walkers.
To the critics of this scene, remember it is a TV show, and while it is great to see things that could truly happen, sometimes it is just fun to see something over the top but fantastic in this series. This scene reminds fans about how excellent Rick and Michonne are together. They are the power couple of TWD, and it will be great to see them on screen together again in their spinoff series.
The scene takes place on the road back to Alexandria after an unsuccessful visit to the Kingdom. Rick wanted King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and his group to join them in coming against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors. Ezekiel declines but doesn’t offer to shelter Daryl (Norman Reedus), who had escaped from the Savior’s prison.
The Walking Dead season 7
Along the road home, they encounter a barricade of vehicles, set by the Saviors rigged with trip wires and dynamite. As they work to clear a path, a massive horde of walkers descends. Rick and Michonne use two cars to which the trip wire was connected, to drive and kill many of the walkers within the horde. The dynamite explodes as they drive off with Tara (Alanna Masterson) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) in another vehicle.
You can watch eh scene in the video below, but it is cut off before a vital line is heard. This is one of the scenes where Michonne uses Rick’s quote back to him. She tells him, “We’re the ones who live.” This quote was used in the series finale and has become an essential line to TWDU.
It was a bloody, gory mess, and most fans enjoyed it as blood and gore go hand in hand with an apocalyptic series.
