It’s been a month since The Walking Dead aired its final episode. During that time, fans have fondly looked back on the series that created a fandom beyond anyone’s imagination. It will always be the foundation TWD Family is built on, but it is time to look forward to what’s to come. Insider talked to the cast to find out their spinoff ideas. Eternals actress Lauren RIdloff, who portrayed Connie in the series, had a fun horror-themed spinoff that would take a look back at the ferals her character encountered in season 11, “On the Inside.”

Connie, a character also featured in the comic story, was introduced in season 9 after the six-year time jump. She, along with her group, Magna (Nadia Hilker), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), Kelly (Angel Theory), and Luke (Dan Fogler), was saved by Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming) and taken to Alexandria.

Ridloff would have to take some time off to film the Marvel movie Eternals, where she portrays the first deaf superhero, Makkari. During that time, Connie was missing after a cave-in trapped her and Magna. She would then be discovered by Virgil (Kevin Carroll), who would pay forward the kindness given to him b Michonne (Danai Gurira) and make it his mission to return Connie to her family.

The Walking Dead – Connie

In season 11, Connie and Virgil would encounter a group of ferals in a house they took refuge in. This episode turned into full-on horror as they fought their way to survival. Ridloff believes this storyline would make for an excellent spinoff series.

She feels the ferals are more deadly than the walkers, which would be a fascinating story. With the little that was seen of this group, it was evident that they were brutal, and this could be a horror spinoff that would be an exciting addition to the TWDU lineup.

Another character she wishes would have been featured in the finale was Virgil. He saved Connie, reunited her with her family, and accompanied them to Alexandria. He was never heard from again.
