Walking Dead actress Thora Birch cast in a new movie

Hocus Pocus actress Thora Birch portrayed Gamma/Mary on The Walking Dead in season 10. She was a member of the Whisperers who tried to redeem herself but sadly was killed by Beta (Ryan Hurst). Deadline reports that Birch has been cast in Hurricane Bianca: The Roots Of All Evil, which will begin filming in early 2023.
The next installment of RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio’s film franchise, Hurricane Bianca: The Roots Of All Evil, is written and directed by Matt Kugelman, who also directed the other films.
This movie will see Richard Martinez (Del Rio, aka Roy Haylock) return to his hometown in Florida for the funeral of his much-loved grandma. While there, the age-old family feud is rekindled with his mother, who owns a homophobic fast food chain. Richard then decides to uncover the truth about his mother’s underhanded dealings. He enlists the help of his found family and goes undercover as Bianca Del Rio.
Birch will portray the memorizing cult leader, Mary, and will join cast members Willam Belli, Rachel Dratch, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, and Doug Plaut.
What else does Thora Birch star in?
Birch will always be fondly remembered for her role in the original Hocus Pocus movie, where she played Dani. But that wasn’t her first role. She had starred in several late 80s early 90s series, including Day by Day, Doogie Howser MD, and Parenthood. She also portrayed Harrison Ford’s daughter in Patriot Games and would reprise the role in Clear and Present Danger.
She is well-known for other roles: Monkey Trouble, Now and Then, Alaska, American Beauty, and Ghost World. Next, she will star in a Lucca Vieira-directed drama, The Midway Point.
Birch was initially cast in Tim Burton’s Wednesday for Netflix but had to bow out for personal reasons. She would have played a character, Tamara Novak, who would have been Wednesday’s (Jenna Ortega) dorm mother.
