The Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor Danny Ramirez is well known in The Walking Dead universe for his role in the spinoff Tales of the Walking Dead episode “La Dona.” He also stars in a top movie of 2022, Top Gun: Maverick, which is now streaming on Paramount+.

Top Gun: Maverick is a sequel to the 1986 movie Top Gun starring Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Anthony Edwards, who also starred in the fourth episode of Tales of the Walking Dead, “Amy/Dr. Everett.”

Maverick takes place 30 years after the original movie and sees United States Navy Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Cruise) as a test pilot whose constant insubordination has kept him from reaching his full potential. His former rival  Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky (Kilmer), now a  US Pacific Fleet commander, has shielded him from being grounded.

Additional cast members for this film include Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, and Ed Harris. Ramirez plays  LT Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia.

In June 2022, Top Gun: Maverick became Cruise’s top-grossing film of his career, with $800 million worldwide. It is the highest-grossing film of 2022, as most critics agree this film surpasses the original.
