Actor Ryan Hurst is well known for many roles, especially those that propelled him into the spotlight. First, he played Opie in Sons of Anarchy and would then portray Beta in The Walking Dead series. Variety reports that he has been cast in a new movie role in Desperation Road.
Based on a novel by Michael Farris Smith, Desperation Road is directed by Nadine Crocker. Smith penned the script for the film.
The story follows an ex-con who, with the help of his father, is trying to rebuild his life. Things quickly spiral out of control when a woman and her daughter enter their lives.
The film also stars Mel Gibson and Garrett Hedlund, who are joined by Woody McClain, Pyper Braun, Willa Fitzgerald, Kat Foster, Valerie Jane Parker, Ella Thomas, Michael Aaron Milligan, and Paulina Gálvez.
The logline for the film reads:

This is based on a series of young adult novels written by Trenton Lee Stewart; it follows a group of four gifted children who Mr. Benedict enlists to infiltrate the Learning Institute for Veritas and Enlightenment (L.I.V.E).
