Steven Yeun stars in Bong Joon Ho’s new movie Mickey 17

South Korean-born actor Steven Yeun has made a name for himself, starring in numerous movies where he has shown his impressive acting talent. Fans of The Walking Dead fondly remember Yeun as Glenn Rhee on the series. His death was one of the most brutal at the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). In 2024, Yeun will star in Bong Joon Ho’s latest movie Mickey 17.  

Directed by Joon-Ho, known for The Host, Snowpiercer, and Parasite, the sci-fi movie is based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7. The film will feature an “expendable,” a disposable employee sent on a mission to colonize the ice world known as Niflheim. If the expendable dies, a new body is generated with the memories of the previous intact.

The film stars Yeun as a character named Berto, with Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, and Holliday Grainger also starring.

The film will release in theaters on March 29, 2024.

What else does Steven Yeun star in?

Yeun is well known for his role in Minari, which saw him as the first Asian-American nominated for an Oscar in the Lead Actor Category. He also recently starred in Jordan Peele’s Nope and three seasons of the animated series Tuca & Bertie. Other roles he is known for include The Humans, Voltron: Legendary Defender and his voice work in the animated series, Trollhunters: Rist of the Titans. 

He will reprise his role in the animated Prime Video series Invincible where he plays superhero Mark Grayson/Invincible. Although the exact date of the season 2 release has yet to be announced, the season will release sometime in 2023.

Yeun will also star alongside Ali Wong, David Choe, Ione Skye, and Ashley Park in the Netflix original series Beef. He will also star with Kristen Stewart in a sci-fi drama, Love Me.
