Walking Dead actors included in 2023 horror releases according to IMDB

Fans of The Walking Dead series are always eager to see what their favorite actors will appear next. With the conclusion of the series in Nov. 2022, fans are even more excited to see what the actors will be featured in next. In 2023 several series regulars will star in TWD spinoffs, while many others will appear in movie and series horror releases.

IMDB created a video highlighting the upcoming horror titles for the forthcoming year. Among this extensive list are many movies and shows starring former TWDU actors.

Teen Wolf: The Movie will see Seth Gilliam, who plays Gabriel on TWD, reprise his role from the Teen Wolf series. He plays Dr. Alan Deaton. This movie released on Jan. 26 on Paramount+.

Renfield features Josh Mickel, who played Jared on TWD in a small part in the Robert Kirkman-written story about Dracula’s lackey, Renfield. This movie released on April 14 in theaters and is now available on Peacock.

Insidious, The Red Door is the next film in The Conjuring universe. TWD actor Steve Coulter, who played Reg Monroe, will reprise his role as Carl for this film. He previously starred in Insidious Chapters 2 & 3. This film marks actor Patrick Wilson’s, who also stars as Josh, directorial debut. This story is set 10 years after the second film when Josh’s son Dalton, is away at college. They both begin to be haunted by demons, requiring them to reenter the Further once again. The film released in theaters on July 2.

Last Voyage of the Demeter stars Corey Hawkins, who portrayed Heath on TWD. The movie is based on a chapter from Bram Stoker’s vampire novel, Dracula. The release date for this movie is Aug. 11 in theaters.

The Walking Dead spinoffs – 2023 releases

Fear the Walking Dead released part 1 of its eighth and final season on May 14. This season revealed more about the mysterious PADRE, experienced a seven-year time jump, and saw the last episode for the crossover character Morgan Jones (Lennie James). Part 2 of the season will release in the fall of 2023.

The Walking Dead: Dead City will see Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) on an adventure to Manhattan. This series released in June.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is scheduled for a fall 2023 release. This series will feature Daryl as he washed ashore in France. You can view the teaser trailer and see more information here. 

The Walking Dead spinoff – 2024 release

Fans were disappointed to learn that The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne spinoff, which will see  Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprise their roles as Rick & Michonne, will be pushed to a 2024 release.
