Seth Gilliam and Melissa Ponzio in Teen Wolf: The Movie now streaming
By Renee Hansen
Walking Dead actors Seth Gilliam and Melissa Ponzio star in Teen Wolf: The Movie, released on Paramount+ on Jan. 26, 2023. Gilliam is known for his role as Father Gabriel Stokes on The Walking Dead, and Ponzio starred as Karen in seasons 3 and 4. Both actors have reprised their roles from the Teen Wolf series for the film.
The movie reunites writer Jeff Davis and director Russell Mulcahy, who previously worked together on the Teen Wolf series. Mulcahy is well known for Highlander (1986) and Resident Evil: Extinction (2017). Another random but interesting fact about Mulcahy is that he directed the music video for The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star,” which was the first-ever music video to air on MTV in 1981.
Teen Wolf: The Movie sees werewolf Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as he protects his town from a new threat. He is no longer a teenager but still an alpha and will need to recruit new allies and bring in trusted friends to fight off what could possibly be the most powerful and deadliest enemy ever.
Teen Wolf: The Movie cast
The movie features many cast members from the series, including Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, JR Bourne, Ian Cohen, Colton Haynes, Linden Ashby, Ryan Kelley, John Posey, Orny Adams, Dylan Sprayberry, and Khylin Rhambo.
Gilliam reprises his role as Alan Deaton, and Ponzio again stars as Melissa McCall. They both appeared in episodes of the series from seasons 1-6
Sadly Dylan O’Brien and Arden Cho declined to return for the movie.
