The Walking Dead’s Seth Gilliam will star in a new film, The Legend of Lake Ronkonkoma: The Lady Of The Lake. After portraying Father Gabriel Stokes on The Walking Dead since 2014, it is exciting to see what roles he will take on next. This new film is a supernatural thriller where he plays a grieving father.
Maria Capp, writer, director, and producer for The Legend of Lake Ronkonkoma, is known for her directorial debut, Four Cousins and a Christmas. She grew up on Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, New York, and always wanted to share her experiences.
The psychological thriller follows Jamie Shultz, whose lineage is traceable to the original people of the Lake. In an interview with Newswires, Capp shared that Jamie’s family is experiencing significant grief due to losing a loved one and is haunted by the “Legend.” Jamie wants to spend her 18th birthday with her friends at the lake. Her estranged relationship with her father and her mother’s mental health issues cast a shadow on what Jamie hoped to be an amazing summer.
In addition to Gilliam, the film stars Nia Sioux as Jamie, and they are joined by Emery Kelly, Larry Saperstein, Del Zamora, and Steven Thomas Capp.

Capp and Gilliam made an appearance on The Donna Drake Show Live It Up and talked about making the film. Capp wrote the story during the pandemic as she stayed at her childhood home, used her childhood memories, and combined the myth, legend, curse surrounding the lake to create the story.
Gilliam portrays Adam Schultz, the father of Jamie, in what he describes as a coming-of-age film. He joined the project as it was a sad and sweet story that and it was a direct offer, no audition needed. He would talk about his early years as an actor, where he began at Horizons Young Playwrights Festival for three years. He cites these productions, written by teen playwrights, made a significant impact on him, and he considers them seminal experiences of his career.

A long-time member of the Teen Wolf series, where he plays Dr. Alan Deaton, Gilliam will reprise this role in the upcoming Teen Wolf: The Movie that releases on January 26, 2023.
