Fans of Fear the Walking Dead are looking forward to season 8, which will premiere on AMC on May 14, 2023. It has also been announced that this will be the final season for the first spinoff of The Walking Dead. The season will release in two parts, with the second experiencing a seven-year time jump. The time jump will bring Fear TWD’s story close to the timeline of the flagship series. Could this allow for some crossovers to one of the upcoming spinoff series?

Following part 1 of season 8 of Fear the Walking Dead, the first new spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City, will premiere its first season. This spinoff will take place in New York, but since this series will air in the middle of Fear TWD’s final season, don’t expect to see any Fear TWD characters in this one.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be set in France, so it seems unlikely that anyone from Fear TWD will appear in this series either. Daryl Dixon will premiere towards the end of 2023.

But, Summit, the Rick (Andrew Lincoln), and Michonne (Danai Gurira) series won’t premiere until 2024, and this series will likely have a better connection to events in Fear the Walking Dead.

Fear the Walking Dead crossovers

Fear the Walking Dead is no stranger to crossover characters in season 4, Morgan Jones (Lennie James) crossed from the main series to Fear TWD. In the following season, Dwight (Austin Amelio) and his wife Sherry (Christine Evangelista) would also make this journey.

The one thing that Summit and Fear TWD will likely have in common is the CRM (Civic Republic Military). Viewers know that Rick was captured and possibly recaptured by the CRM. Fear TWD has also encountered this group, and it has been speculated that the mysterious PADRE organization could be associated with the CRM.

In season 7, fans learned that returning character Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) worked for PADRE and her job was to acquire young children to allow PADRE to raise them but for what purpose?  Could they be working with the CRM to raise children for their military? More information about PADRE will be revealed in Fear the Walking Dead’s eighth season. It will be exciting to learn what exactly this organization is all about.

In the second half of season 8, Fear TWD’s storyline will experience a seven-year jump, bringing this story closer to the timeline of The Walking Dead’s final season. If PADRE is somehow involved with the CRM, this could allow for some crossovers from Fear TWD to Rick and Michonne’s story in Summit.

While this is all speculation, it would be exciting to see some familiar faces in Summit or any of the new spinoffs.
