What is The Walking Dead spinoff with Rick Grimes?

Rick Grimes, portrayed by Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead series, was the hero and leader of the original Atlanta group. Throughout the beginning seasons, Rick would establish the rules, and his previous line of work as a Sherrif deputy would make him a perfect fit for leadership in an apocalypse. In season 9 of the series, it was assumed that Rick died in the bridge explosion and Lincoln left the series, but in 2024, Rick Grimes will return to The Walking Dead universe in a spinoff.
The working title is Summit, and the series will feature Rick as he is reunited with his love, Michonne (Danai Guria), who learned that he survived in season 10 of The Walking Dead and went in search of him.
Scott M. Gimple will serve as showrunner for the series that began filming in New Jersey in February 2023. Gimple, Lincoln, Guriria, Brian Bockrath, and TWD veteran Denise Huth will serve as co-executive producers for the series. When first announced, the series was set to consist of more than one season, but since that time, it appears it may only consist of one six-episode season, which will see a release sometime in 2024.
The Walking Dead Rick & Michonne spinoff
Many fans long to see a reunion of Rick & Michonne with all the other survivors, but that isn’t what this series will be. Likely it will be a reunion of the couple while they are battling against the CRM. While there could be some familiar faces, it won’t be the reunion fans want to see.
Rick and Michonne have been through a lot since leaving The Walking Dead, and Gimple has shared the exciting news that viewers can expect the return of Red Machete Rick and Michonne fighting the governor days.
Regardless of its length, Summit will be an exciting addition to TWDU as fans have longed to see what has transpired since Rick and Miconne departed the flagship series.
