Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne spinoff casts Lesley-Ann Brandt

The Walking Dead spinoff Summit will see the return of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in what is being described as an epic love story. The series began filming in New Jersey in February 2022. Deadline reports that actress Lesley-Ann Brandt has been announced for a key recurring role in the series.

TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple serves as showrunner for the series, with Lincoln, Gurira, Brian Bockrath, and TWD veteran Denise Huth as co-executive producers. The series will have six episodes and is expected to release in 2023.

The first image of the Richonne reunion was recently released, and the fandom went crazy seeing TWD’s apocalyptic power couple together again.

Brandt has been cast as Pearl Thorne, but the details about her character have been kept secret. She is the first character outside Rick and Michonne to be officially announced for the series.

Brandt shared her excitement on social media and shouted out to Gurira for “advocating for this VERY South African character”

Rumors have circulated on social media that Pollyanna McIntosh, who plays Jadis in TWDU, has been seen on set. This wouldn’t be a surprise as McIntosh was tied to the trilogy of movies Lincoln was originally set to reprise his role as Rick Grimes. She also appeared in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond, where she confirmed that she traded Rick to the CRM (Civic Republic Military) as her ticket to enter this organization. The CRM is expected to have a heavy focus in the Rick and Michonne spinoff.

What else is Lesley-Ann Brandt known for?

Brandt is best known for her role in the Netflix original series Lucifer. She portrayed Maze, a demon from Hell and lovable anti-hero. Other roles she is known for include Horror Noire, Heartlock, The Librarians, Gotham, and Single Ladies.
