Fear the Walking Dead has wrapped filming for the eighth and final season of the series. The series will conclude with 113 episodes over eight years. Fear the Walking Dead is the first spinoff of The Walking Dead that has paved the way for many more to come.
The first Fear the Walking Dead episode premiered on AMC on August 23, 2015. The episode was titled “Pilot” and was written by Dave Erickson & Robert Kirkman and directed by Adam Davidson. The final season will release in two parts, with the first debuting in May 2023. This season will experience a seven-year time jump which should make for an exciting ending to this series.
Fear the Walking Dead began its story in Los Angeles at the onset of the outbreak and followed the survivors as they acclimated to the news the dead had started to rise and attack the living. Throughout the series, the location would move from LA to Mexico to Texas, and the storyline and characters would also alter.
This week the cast, crew, and fans have braced themselves for the beginning of the end. It has been circulated that this week would be the final week of filming, and daily cast members took to social media to announce their character’s story had come to a close.
Colman Domingo, who has portrayed Victor Strand since season one, graciously gave Undead Walking an exclusive on his audition video for Strand. It is a fantastic look at the beginning of this character, who has delighted fans throughout the series.
