This year WonderCon will be held from  March 24-26 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.  Two of the most exciting panels will be Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: Dead City. Both series are part of the AMC family of shows and are spinoffs of The Walking Dead, which concluded its story in November 2022.

The first spinoff in The Walking Dead universe, Fear the Walking Dead, will make an appearance at WonderCon ahead of its May 14 premiere on AMC of the eighth and final season of the series. The final chapter of Fear TWD will see long absent character Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) as a series regular after her return in the season 7 finale. This season will release in two parts and see a seven-year time jump. Fans have high expectations for the last installment of this series.

Cast members Kim Dickens, Jenna Elfman, and Karen David will be joined by executive producer and co-showrunner Ian Goldberg for the Fear the Walking Dead panel at Wondercon on Saturday, March 25, at 2:30 p.m. PDT (5:30 p.m. ET).

The Walking Dead: Dead City

Dead City is the newest spinoff and marks the first direct spinoff of the main series, which will premiere on AMC in June 2023. This story will follow Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel to Manhattan to rescue Maggie’s son Hershel who has been abducted. There they will encounter a new enemy and a horde of walkers one million strong.

Cast members Lauren Cohan and Gaius Charles will be joined by executive producer and showrunner Eli Jorné for The Walking Dead: Dead City panel at Wondercon on Saturday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. PDT (4:30 p.m. ET).

Jeffrey Dean Mogan is currently filming The Boys, so this is likely why he is unable to attend this year’s event.

Both panels will be moderated by Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick, and it is likely that full-length trailers will be released for both series.
