Walking Dead: A familiar face spotted on set of Rick and Michonne spinoff
By Renee Hansen
The most exciting news circulating in The Walking Dead universe is filming for the Rick and Michonne series, known as the working title The Walking Dead: Summit. The series is currently filming in New Jersey, and social media has been flooded with images of Andrew Lincoln, Dania Gurira, and another familiar face, Pollyanna McIntosh.
It is no surprise that McIntosh will reprise her role as Jadis in this series, as she is tied to Rick by being the one to rescue him after the bridge explosion. She radioed a CRM (Civic Republic Military) helicopter to extract them from their location. Jadis would later appear in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond as Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes.
Summit will be an epic love story of Rick and Michonne and will likely fill in the gaps of what has transpired since these characters left the flagship series’ storyline and feature the power couple’s reunion. Jadis’ role in the overall story is unclear but she will most likely not be in Rick’s good graces.
The Walking Dead spinoff
Rick Grimes was originally supposed to return to TWDU in a trilogy of movies. At that time, TWDU Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple announced that Jadis would be included, so it is not surprising that McIntosh will be included in the spinoff that has replaced the movies.
Another cast addition is Lucifer actress Lesley-Ann Brandt has been announced as a character Pearl Throne. Details about the character have been kept secret, but Brandt did describe her character as “VERY South African.”
The Rick and Michonne series will release on AMC and AMC+ in 2024 and will consist of six episodes.
