Fans of The Walking Dead find all sorts of inspiration from the cast and crew of the series. Many cast members donate to charities and do other good deeds to help those in need, which inspires fans to tap into their generous natures. Some fans are inspired by clothing or hairstyles worn by the actors or the characters they portray. Many TWD characters are used as inspiration for cosplay costumes. AEW (All Elite Wrestling) superstar Chris Jericho also got some inspiration from Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character, Negan.

In an interview with NHL.com, Jericho shared how he was inspired by Negan’s naming his favorite weapon, the barbed wire bat Lucille. Throughout his wrestling career, Jericho has remade his persona time and time again. In 2021 this reinvention saw him donning a spiked jacket with a baseball bat hefted on his shoulder à la Negan Smith from TWD. While The Walking Dead may not have inspired his look, naming his bat certainly did.

Jericho had this to say about the inspiration to naming the bat and why he chose the name, Floyd:

"True story. How do you swallow your own tongue?! But he did it, and to this day in AEW, the bat I carry is called Floyd. I was looking for a name (similiar to) Lucille – Negan’s bat on The Walking Dead – and for some reason Floyd Thomson popped in my head. So the name on my bat in AEW comes from Floyd Thomson, former St. Louis Blue, who swallowed his own tongue."
