Ballerina staring Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus sets release date

Fans of Norman Reedus and his Walking Dead character Daryl Dixon are excited about the upcoming spinoff series that will feature Daryl on a journey to France. Reedus has been very busy filming the spinoff in France, which is rumored to have begun filming for a second season (but no official word from AMC). He also took time to film other projects, including the John Wick spinoff Ballerina. 

Directed by Len Wiseman, known for Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard, and Total Recall (2012), Ballerina is a spinoff of the John Wick franchise made famous by Keanu Reeves, who stars as the titular character in those movies. The screenplay for Ballarina was written y Shay Hatten, who also wrote John Wick 3 & 4, Army of the Dead, and Army of Thieves. 

Ballerina will be set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4 and sees ballerina assassin Rooney hunting down the murderers of her family.

Ballerina cast

Reedus was cast alongside Ana de Armas as Rooney, with Reeves, Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston,  and the late Lance Riddick, who all reprise their roles. Gabriel Byrne and Catalina Sandino Moreno also star. This was one of Riddick’s final performances and his last as Charon.

Ballerina release date

It was recently announced that Ballerina will release on June 7, 2024.

Norman Reedus – other new projects

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will release in the fall of 2023, and Ballerina in 2024, Reedus will also star in a film called The Bikeriders.

The Bikeriders, which has a release date of December 1, 2023, stars Reedus, along with Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook, and Mike Faist.  The Bikeriders is set in the 1960s and follows a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club.
