Actor Steven Yeun’s next project is an original series on Netflix. Beef is a dramedy where Yeun plays a failing contractor who, after a road rage incident, winds up in a long-running furious feud with a wealthy businesswoman, played by Ali Wong.  Beef is an A24 production that reunites Tuca & Bertie actors Yeun and Wong.

The ten-episode series premiered on the streamer on April 6 and sees Lee Sung Jin, known for Silicon Valley and Dave, as showrunner. This dark comedy is directed by Sung Jin, Hikari, and Jake Schreier, with Sung Jin, Schreier, Yeun, and Wong as executive producers. The story is inspired by Sung Jin’s own road rage experience, which has been created into a moving and darkly comedic tale. The first episode premiered at SXSW in March 2023, to much excitement and anticipation for the remainder of the series.

The series currently has a 100% rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, stating, “Ali Wong and Steven Yeun are a diabolically watchable pair of adversaries in Beef, a prime cut comedy that finds the pathos in pettiness.”
