Actress Kim Dickens returned to Fear the Walking Dead as Madison Clark during the finale of Season 7. This wasn’t a surprise to viewers as Dicken made the announcement during an episode of Talking Dead, TWDU after show hosted by Chris Hardwick. It was a surprise to discover that she worked for the long-sought-after PADRE. Recently, a video was posted on social media with Dickens thanking fans for the #BringBackMadison campaign, which was instrumental in her return.

Dickens shared that she would see the hashtag from time to time, and it meant a lot to her. She was happy that her character meant something to fans. Madison is a character she has enjoyed playing as she enjoys the fact she is profoundly flawed and believes that resonates with viewers.

Madison was discovered by Morgan Jones (Lennie James), a character who never encountered Madison before her “death” in season 4, as that is when he crossover from The Walking Dead. When he saw her tattoos that read Nick and Alicia he knew exactly who she was. He had to deliver the sad news of Nick’s (Frank Dillane) death and Alicia’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey) illness from her walker bite and an amputated arm.

Fear the Walking Dead season 8

Madison has returned as a series regular for the eighth and final season, and it will be interesting to see what is next for the character. She was last seen heading to PADRE with Morgan, both blindfolded, riding in a boat.

Season 8 will experience a time jump of seven years and the group of survivors living there. Morgan and Grace’s (Karen David) daughter Mo (Zoey Merchant) holds something meaningful for the future.

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC+ on May 11 and AMC on May 14 at 9 p.m. ET.
