The Walking Dead: Dead City early premiere date on AMC+
By Renee Hansen
AMC has released exciting news for fans of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The duo’s new spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City, will premiere early on the network’s streaming service AMC+. Dead City will premiere on June 15, days ahead of the AMC debut of the series on June 18 at 10 p.m. ET, immediately following Fear the Walking Dead’s midseason 8 finale episode.
AMC has also announced that beginning June 1, Dead City’s WonderCon panel will be available to view on AMC+. Fear the Walking Dead’s panel is currently available to view with a Fear the Walking Dead: Show Me More special beginning June 19; this is a behind-the-scenes look at part one of the final season of the series hosted by Clarke Wolfe.
Dead City will begin approximately two years after The Walking Dead series finale, and the trailer reveals that Maggie is raided and her son Hershel (Logan Kim) is abducted by a man named The Croat (Zeljko Ivanek). She discovers he is a former associate of Negan’s and needs his help to secure Hershel’s release.
This series will be a significant change from the flagship’s wooded setting as the pair travel to the island of Manhattan, which has been cut off from the mainland since early after the outbreak. There they will encounter new people, some friendly, others not so much as they attempt to rescue Hershel.
The Walking Dead Dead City season 1

The Walking Dead: Dead City premieres on AMC+ on June 15 and AMC on June 18 at 10 p.m. ET. Subsequent episodes will air at 9 p.m. ET.
