Fear the Walking Dead’s eighth and final season has slowly revealed more information about the long-sought-after organization PADRE. The storyline has also experienced a seven-year jump and lays out what the characters experienced during this time. In the third episode, “Odessa,” another familiar face is reintroduced, and two names are mentioned, including Luciana.
In season 7, Luciana (Danay Garcia) was last seen fleeing Texas with the other survivors in search of a safe place to live. She had been caring for Daniel (Ruben Blades), a man who is like a father to her. While he was experiencing some memory loss and mental health issues.
In “Odessa,” Daniel reappears and encounters his old friend, Madison (Kim Dickens) and June (Jeana Elfman). While talking with Madison, Daniel tells her of Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), and it sounds like she has died after her radiation poisoning, which is no surprise. And it is interesting to remember that Madison doesn’t know Charlie killed her son Nick (Frank Dillane).
Daniel also mentions Luciana, but it is unclear if he means she also died.
Fear the Walking Dead – Luciana
Daniel tells Madison of his guilt for not being there for his daughter Ofelia and Charlie and goes on to say he wasn’t there for Luciana either. But this doesn’t mean she is dead, only that he wasn’t there during the chaos of PADRE dividing up all of the people who escaped Texas in the rafts.
Viewers hope that there will be more to Charlie’s story instead of this brief mention and especially want to learn more about Luciana, be she dead or alive. She has been on the series since season 2, and it would be a significant disappointment for this to be the only conversation about her in the final season.
Fear the Walking Dead premieres new episodes on AMC on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET and AMC+ three days early on Thursdays.
