Fear the Walking Dead has put fans through a wide range of emotions in the first four episodes of its final season. The most recent “King County” focused on Morgan’s (Lennie James) journey back to his home in Georgia and his emotional journey as he finally put his son and wife to rest. Grace (Karen David) followed him to Georgia, and her trip ended in tragedy.
This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episode 4, “King County.”
Grace followed Morgan back to Georgia after she received a coded message telling her to join him. It would quickly be revealed that MO (Zoey Merchant), who is “so much smarter than you got any right to be,” is the one who sent the message and then stowed away in Grace’s truck. She pieced things together from Morgan’s graffiti on the boat house walls.
Morgan would share what happened to his wife and son and tells them he needs to put his son to rest.
Fear the Walking Dead – Grace
Morgan and Grace have had to keep their love a secret from PADRE, or the organization would have used that against them. It has been difficult for them to know PADRE is raising their child, but to also keep apart when they love one another so deeply has been an added source of heartache.
In this episode, Grace reveals to Morgan that her radiation exposure at the Lonestar Power & Light power plant has caught up to her. She is very sick and will likely expire due to the long-term exposure she experienced. This is another truth Morgan isn’t ready to accept.
The worst part is, by the end of the episode, just when things are beginning to look up for the little family of Morgan, Grace, and Mo, a walker bites Grace. The episode ends with a race against the clock as they try to return her to PADRE and June’s (Jenna Elfman) experimental treatment of walker bites. Her new radiation treatment seems to be working on Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry’s (Christine Evangelista) son Finch (Gavin Warren).
Will Grace’s previous radiation exposure help her walker bite from spreading? Find out in the next episode of Fear the Walking Dead, “More Time Than You Know,” which airs on AMC on Sunday, June 11 at 9 p.m. ET and releases on AMC+ Thursday, June 8.
