Walking Dead’s Margot Bingham joins cast of Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Walking Dead actress Margot Bingham’s voice was heard before she appeared onscreen in season 11. She played Max, a member of the Commonwealth who contacted Eugene (Josh McDermitt) in season 10. She lived to see the series finale with Eugene and their daughter Rosie. Variety reports that Bingham has been cast in Taylor Sheridan’s new series Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan created the series for Paramount+ and tells of Bass Reeves, the first black Deputy US Marshal west of the Mississippi River. Lawmen: Bass Reeves marks the fourth segment of stories in the Yellowstone franchise.
The synopsis reads:
"The series will bring the legendary lawman of the wild west to life. Reeves (Oyelowo), known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded."
Lawmen: Bass Reeves cast
David Oyelowo has been cast as the titular character and is joined by previously announced Forrest Goodluck, Lauren E. Banks, Barry Pepper, and Demi Singleton. Dennis Quaid, Joaquina Kalukango, Lonnie Chavis, Rob Morgan, Ryan O’Nan, Grantham Coleman, Donald Sutherland, and Justin Hurtt-Dunkley will recur, with Shea Whigham and Garrett Hedlund set to guest star.
Bingham was announced with other newly cast actors, Dale Dickey, Tosin Borohunfola, and Mo Brings Plenty, who played the driver of chief Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) in Yellowstone. She will play Sara Jumper, “a black Seminole Native American to whom Bass will owe a debt of gratitude toward.”
The series was retitled in April 2023 to Lawmen: Bass Reeves, as the Lawmen series will be set in an anthology format in which additional seasons will chronicle the lives of other iconic lawmen who made an impact on US history.
