Fear the Walking Dead season 8 part 1 answered many questions about PADRE, but many more are yet to be answered in the final six episodes. In the latest installment of Show Me More, the behind-the-scenes look at TWD universe hosted by Clarke Wolfe, showrunners and cast talk about the first part of the final season, and viewers get a preview of what’s to come in part 2.

This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead season 8, episodes 1-6.

Fear the Walking Dead’s first episode of season 8 was an amazing beginning to the final season, but things quickly went downhill. The reveal of the PADRE leaders was less than impressive, and as quickly as that happened, the whole thing fell to ruins.

Morgan (Lennie James) went through a lot in his final episodes of the series. He reverted to his “Clear” phase from The Walking Dead, complete with graffiti on the walls. This leads him to return to Georgia to put his wife and son to rest, only to experience the same situation with Grace (Karen David) and his daughter Mo (Zoey Merchant). Only this time, he could put Grace’s walker down so she didn’t bite Mo.

By the end of part 1, Morgan and Mo have decided to head off in search of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), but not really because Lennie James has stated he is done playing Morgan after 13 years. But fans have been overjoyed to hear him mention Rick several times this season. That is the last fans will see of Morgan Jones in Fear the Walking Dead.

Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) experienced horrific pain when a walker forcibly bit their son Finch (Gavin Warren). They had a glimmer of hope when June’s (Jeana Elfman) experimental treatment of exposing the bite to radiation appeared to work. But in the end, Finch succumbs to the walker bite off camera, and Sherry & Dwight have to bury their son. Then they broke up. After all they have been through, that’s it for this couple. They appear in the clips for part 2 of this season, so only time will tell their fate.

Fear the Walking Dead – season 8, part 2

The PADRE villain Shrike (Maya Eshat) lets her father’s walker bite her after proclaiming to be an advocate for the children. But she was using them to kill walkers to get supplies and coordinates.

Daniel (Ruben Blades) mentioned Luciana (Danay Garcia), but he sounded like she may have died; the clips for part 2 show that she is alive and well, which is so much better than a slight mention and never hearing or seeing her again.

Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) will return in part 2 as well. Showrunner Ian Goldberg stated at WonderCon 2023 that  Strand “may have the most drastic reinvention of any character on the show when we meet him (in season 8), so expect a big change.” This is exciting as Victor is always a wild card.

What about Sarah (Mo  Collins), Wendell (Daryl Mitchell), Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), and Rabbi Jacob (Peter Jacobson)? Will viewers ever see them again?

Fear the Walking Dead season 8, part 2, will premiere in the fall of 2023.
