AMC has created several spinoffs of The Walking Dead series, which aired for 11 seasons. These new series either introduced a new cast of characters or focus on characters from the main series. The most recently released series, The Walking Dead: Dead City, premiered in June 2023, and if you missed the debut episode, don’t worry, you can now watch it online.
Dead City is set in post-apocalyptic Manhattan and features the continued story of long-time enemies Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Maggie’s son Hershel (Logan Kim) was abducted by a former Savior named The Croat (Željko Ivanek).
The Croat and his Burazi raided Maggie’s new home, a relocated Hilltop, and took their grain and Hershel. Now Maggie will seek Negan’s help rescuing her son since Negan is familiar with the inner workings of the mind of The Croat.
Their NYC adventure introduces them to some locals, the Tribespeople, who are no friends of The Croat and his psychotic ways.
