Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon newest teaser Daryl finds religion?

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon series will release this fall, and AMC has been releasing many teasers for the new series that will focus on The Walking Dead character Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus. The latest teaser shows Daryl in an Abby with some nuns, and it appears they brand him.
There has been a lot of mystery surrounding the Daryl Dixon spinoff, including the manner in which Daryl arrives in France. One teaser shows Daryl tied to an overturned lifeboat, but surely he was on a larger boat before this? In the narration, Daryl states he went looking for something, and all he found was trouble. The something he was looking for could be Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and the trouble could be the CRM (Civic Military Republic). This organization is known to have helicopters, so it is likely they also have ships. This is all speculation, of course, but it makes sense.
The newest teaser was released during the fourth episode of the Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City, which shows Daryl in an Abby with some nuns. Viewers see things through Daryl’s hazy view, and it looks like they are branding him, but they are most likely cauterizing a wound.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spinoff
The Abby is likely where Daryl will encounter Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), who is described as a member of a progressive religious group. Isabelle will join Daryl on his journey through France, and her dark past will confront her.
Reedus and director and executive producer Greg Nicotero have stated this series will be much different than any series in The Walking Dead universe. Reedus said to think of it as a reboot instead of a continuation. Nicotero described it as “an exciting extension of the genre that will delight people who love this kind of storytelling and crave more.”
AMC will feature a Walking Dead Universe panel at SDCC 2023 which is expected to reveal more about the Daryl Dixon spinoff and the other spinoffs in TWDU. Fans hope to hear of the renewal for season 2 of Daryl Dixon and the announcement that Melissa McBride will return.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will release on AMC and AMC+ in the fall of 2023.
