Dead City continues the stories of  Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and introduces some exciting new characters. The Croat (Željko Ivanek) is a former underling of Negan’s from when he was the leader of the Saviors. Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles) is the self-proclaimed family man on a manhunt for Negan. Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) is a young girl traumatized by the death of her father, who is Negan’s ward.

Maggie & Negan also meet the Tribespeople, natives of NYC who are enemies of The Croat. This makes them more than willing to help rescue Hershel (Logan Kim), who The Croat abducted.

The most recent episode, “Everybody Wins a Prize,” sees Maggie, Negan, and the Tribespeople begin to carry out their plan. This episode also provided viewers with a flashback to the days when Negan ruled supreme over the Sanctuary. This was accompanied by a surprise guest cameo from Steven Ogg, who reprised his role as the Savior named Simon. This lookback was to give viewers a deeper knowledge of The Croat and his brutal ways.
