When does The Walking Dead: Dead City season finale air?

Spinoffs appear to be the new norm in The Walking Dead universe. This trend began with Fear the Walking Dead in 2015 and has continued and by 2024, TWDU will have seven spinoffs. The Walking Dead: Dead City is the latest spinoff that premiered in June 2023. This series is vastly different from the flagship as it is set in the urban setting of post-apocalyptic Manhattan. When does the season finale air on AMC?

Dead City follows Maggie Rhee (née Greene) as she seeks to find her old enemy Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to help her recover her son Hershel (Logan Kim), who has been abducted. When she catches up to him, she discovers he has a young girl, Ginny (Mahina Napoleon), in his care and is wanted by law enforcement in New Babylon for crimes he committed there.

When Maggie finds out about Ginny, she finds the key to talking Negan into helping her rescue Hershel. She offers food, shelter, and protection for the girl at The Bricks, Maggie’s new home, since Hilltop was too destroyed to repair.

Why will Negan be helpful in this situation? His old associate, The Croat (Željko Ivanek), is responsible for taking Hershel. As a former Savior, Negan would know The Croat well and prove invaluable in understanding the way he thinks.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season finale

Another piece to Negan’s troubles is MarshalPerlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles). This is the man who is hunting him down to bring him back to New Babylon for punishment of his crimes.

Dead City’s first season consists of six episodes which began airing on AMC and AMC+ in June 2023. On July 23, at 9 p.m. ET AMC will air the season finale of Dead City titled  “Doma Smo.”
