AMC is setting the bar high with the latest spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City, which is the best spinoff in The Walking Dead universe so far. Another new spinoff in 2024 has finally been given its official title, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. This was announced at SDCC 2023.

This title comes from the quote said by Rick and Michonne several times in The Walking Dead series. When it was featured in the series finale of The Walking Dead and spoken by characters from the series, alive and dead, it carried so much more weight.

When Rick first used this phrase, he was talking to Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) and telling the community of Alexandria that his group is the “one who lives” because they do what needs to be done and are inspired by each person they have come in contact with. Whether alive or dead, those people influence future actions and lend strength to those they encounter.

In 2024 fans will finally see the long-awaited reunion of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in the spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

"The love story of Rick Grimes and Michonne is changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. Can they find each other and who they were in a situation unlike any they’ve ever known?"

Formerly referred to by the working title The Walking Dead: Summit, The Ones Who Live will continue the epic love story of the power couple of the apocalypse. Rick, taken by the CRM (Civic Republic Military), has tried to return to his family. And Michonne has never given up hope of finding her true love. Both are seen in the post-credits scene of the final episode of The Walking Dead.

She has been seen on set, and fans are excited to see what she will bring to the storyline. She is the one responsible for Rick being traded to the CRM.

Lucifer actress Lesley-Ann Brandt has been announced as a character named Pearl Thorne, and rumors have circulated that Terry O’Quinn will join the series as Major General Beale.

Look for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live to release in 2024.
