Traditionally The Walking Dead universe airs new episodes on AMC during the 9 p.m. ET timeslot on Sunday nights. Fans are excited about the upcoming release of the new spinoffs that will continue the stories of fan-favorite characters, including Daryl, Rick, Michonne, and more. Are there any new episodes airing tonight?

Sadly, there are no new episodes airing tonight, August 20.

The next series to premiere will be The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon on September 10. This series focuses on Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his journey to France, where he encounters The Union of Hope. Made up of nuns, this group believes that God has sent Daryl to deliver a young boy to fulfill his destiny to lead humanity’s revival. Daryl will also come face to face with mutant walkers. AMC+ subscribers can watch the first ten minutes of episode 1 of Daryl Dixon.

Although not a Walking Dead series, another exciting debut is Reedus’ travel series Ride with Norman Reedus, which will debut its sixth season immediately following the Daryl Dixon premiere. Each season Reedus and his celebrity guests travel around the world as they sample local bike culture and the unique people who live there.

The Walking Dead spinoffs

Fear the Walking Dead season 8, part 2, will premiere on October 22. This will begin the series’ final six episodes, which was announced to be ending in January 2023. The first part focused on PADRE and Morgan Jones (Lennie James), who starred in his final episode during the midseason finale. He vowed to look for his old friend Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

The second half of the final season of Fear the Walking Dead will see the return of Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman), a character who was seen bashed in the head with a hammer by Madison (Kim Dickens) but miraculously survived. This can only mean bad news for Madison, another long-thought-dead character who returned in season 7.  She will be reunited with many of her old friends as they try to save PADRE and locate the parents of the children Madison abducted for PADRE.

In 2024, Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira) will return in their own spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Little is known about the series other than it continues the couple’s epic love story and will feature their reunion.

According to TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, more spinoffs are in the works. Fans are eager to learn if their favorite character will be featured in a spinoff. The newly announced short-form series More Tales of the Walking Dead could feature one-off stories of characters within TWDU, alive or dead. More news will be coming on this series, and we will keep you updated on everything coming in TWDU.
