Watch Daryl Dixon’s best Walking Dead moments before spinoff release
By Renee Hansen
Norman Reedus has described The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon as “beautiful, it’s touching, and it’s sort of amazing.” The spinoff is filmed and set in France, making for a breathtaking backdrop, and follows Daryl as he washes ashore in a foreign country. Before the release of the new series, AMC has a special feature of Daryl’s best Walking Dead moments.
The Walking Dead: Best of Daryl is now available on AMC+. This special includes narration by Reedus as viewers get a retrospective look at the story of Daryl Dixon. This is followed by four of Daryl’s best episodes.
- Season 2 “Chuacabra”
- Season 4 “Still”
- Season 7 “The Cell”
- Season 9 “Obliged”
Daryl was created for the series, so he has no comic counterpart. This allowed Reedus and the creators freedom to establish this character any way they chose. He started as a surly, impulsive man who would eventually find a real family, something he never had as a child. This softened him over time, and he became a community leader.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon spinoff
Daryl will return to TWDU on September 10 with the premiere of his spinoff series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which airs on AMC at 9 p.m. ET. This is a new adventure for Daryl, who never left the state of Georgia until he was well into adulthood. Now, he will find himself in France, where he will encounter new groups and people.
Daryl’s primary goal is to return home, but he is distracted by people who need his help. He will come against mutated walkers and a political group, The Cause, who want him dead. The Union of Hope is a group of nuns who believe he is sent to them to usher a young boy to fulfill his destiny as leader of humanity’s revival.
