By Renee Hansen
Actor Erik Jensen is well known for his roles in For Life, Mr. Robot, and in season 5 of The Walking Dead as Dr. Steven Evans, one of the only people kind to Beth (Emily Kinney) at Grady Memorial Hospital. Jensen is also a writer and director, and Deadline reports that his next project will be the indie film Rebel Girl.
Mizzel Media, a US financier, has backed Rebel Girl, the working title of which Jensen is a writer and director with Jessica Blank (Slender Man). Han Shan co-wrote the script. The project is currently filming in Minnesota under a SAG IG.
Jensen announced the new project on social media, sharing his excitement at making a movie in his hometown of Minneapolis and working with his daughter, who stars.
The story follows Maisie, a headstrong 14-year-old, and her artist father, who uproot their lives in Brooklyn to return to her father’s hometown in Minnesota. There, Maisie will fall in love, shake things up with the family traditions, and force her family to address their issues.
Jensen and his daughter Sadie Jensen-Blank star as the father/daughter duo of Kurt and Maisie and are joined by Amy Madigan, Joel Marsh Garland, Jacob Moran, Thomas Kopache, Carl Palmer, James Padric, and two newcomers, Heather Reddick and Ines Mojica.
Walking Dead and Outer Banks actor Cullen Moss also stars. He portrayed Gorman, the cruel and pervy officer at Grady Memorial Hospital, in season 5 of TWD.
What else does Walking Dead actor Erik Jensen star in?
In addition to The Walking Dead, Mr. Robot, and For Life, Jensen has starred in many other notable titles during his long-running career. See him in What Breaks the Ice, Modern Love, Mindhunter, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Blacklist and many more.
He will star in The Collaboration, a biographical drama following the friendship of famed artist Andy Warhol (Paul Bettany) and Jean-Michel Basquiat (Jeremy Pope). The film is based on the same-titled stage play by Anthony McCarten.
