The first season of The Walking Dead drew viewers in with the promise of zombies and the apocalypse. After watching the first episode, viewers continued to watch each Sunday night to experience the stories of the survivors. Season 1 would set the tone for the first few seasons, which are the best of the series. The Motion Comic: The Walking Dead was created as part of the promotion for the series premiere.

The series used The Walking Dead comic created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard as source material with many variations. The series deviates from the comic story often, even adding several characters to the story, making very interesting comparisons of the two.

One entertaining creation that fans would have loved to see continue is the Motion Comic: The Walking Dead. This was an animated version of the comics used to promote The Walking Dead series premiere and released on July 20, 2010, with animation by Juice Films. The animation uses the first 13 1/2 pages of the original Walking Dead comic. Phil LaMarr provides voice acting for Rick, Shane, Reggie, and Zombies, and Jake Strider Hughes directed the episode with a score by Lennie Moore.

The Walking Dead universe

By 2024, The Walking Dead universe will consist of the main series and seven spinoffs. TWD Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple has stated that if the current spinoffs are successful, more will be on the way.

Since AMC is doing a great job with the first direct spinoffs, Dead City and Daryl Dixon, why not continue the upswing with a continuation of the animated comic?

These animated comic videos would draw fans of the series as well as fans of comics. While it wouldn’t expand the universe, it would shed light on the differences between the comics and the series, making for exciting content.
