The early reviews are in for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and appear to be primarily positive, and the series is averaging 73% on Rotten Tomatoes (9/6/2023). The series begins with an action-packed premiere episode, “L’âme Perdue” (The Lost Soul).
The new series is filmed and set in France and follows fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, on his journey. When he arrives on the shores of France, his first instinct is to find a way to return home. He will encounter many new people, some of whom need his help. This will make his primary goal of returning to the United States difficult.
The Union of Hope, or l’Union de I’Espoir, is a group of nuns who help Daryl when he is injured and inform him that they believe a young boy, Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), is the key to humanity’s revival. They feel that God has sent Daryl to accompany Laurent to the place where he will fulfill his destiny.
Another group, The Cause, isn’t pleased with the American’s presence in France and hunts him down with the intent to kill him.
