Walking Dead’s Nick Gomez stars in Fargo season 5, release date

Last year, Deadline reported that Walking Dead  & She-Hulk actor Nick Gomez had been added to the cast of the FX series Fargo. Gomez has played many notable roles in his career, with Walking Dead fans remembering him as Tomas from season 3, the leader of a group of prisoners discovered by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group.

Fargo is a series based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 film. Created and written by Noah Hawley, known for his work on Bones and The Alibi, the Coen brothers were so impressed with Hawley’s script that they agreed to be EPs for the series. The critically acclaimed series has won six Primetime Emmys, including Outstanding Miniseries in 2014.

Fargo is a black comedy crime drama that follows an anthology format, with each story connected in the same universe. Each season features a primarily new cast set in a different era and location. Hawley is greatly influenced by the Coen brother’s films for each season.

The previous season was a noir-ish crime story set in the 1950s in Kansas City, Missouri. Season 5, set in 2019, is a dark Midwest mystery that takes place in Minnesota and North Dakota.  The story asks, when is a kidnapping, not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?

Fargo season 5 release date

Season 5 of Fargo will be released on FX beginning Tuesday, November 21, at 10 p.m. ET. The first two episodes will be released that night, with weekly episodes to follow, with the finale of the ten-episode season on January 16, 2024. New episodes stream on Hulu the following day.

This season’s all-star lineup includes Jon Hamm,  Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Joe Keery, Lamorne Morris, Richa Moojani, David Rysdahl, Sam Spruell, Jessica Pohly, Dave Foley, and Gomez will play Agent Joaquin.

What is season 5 of Fargo about?

Two new families will be introduced to the Fargo world, The Lyons and the Tillmans. Dot (Temple), an unassuming Midwest housewife, finds her past comes back to haunt her as legal trouble sets off a chain reaction of events.

While many may have forgotten Dot’s past, North Dakota Sheriff Roy Tillman (Hamm) has not. He has hunted her for years with his son Gator (Keery) and a drifter, Ole Munch (Spruell).
