Who is Dominique Pinon (Antoine – Pigeon man) in TWD: Daryl Dixon?
By Renee Hansen
In the third episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, “Paris sera toujours Paris” (Paris Will Always Be Paris), Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his group arrive in Paris. While there, they encounter Fallou (Eriq Ebouaney), a man involved with the Union of Hope, and many new characters in his community. One of those men is Antoine, played by Dominique Pinon.
Antoine is a man in charge of the communications for the community, which, to Daryl’s dismay, turns out to be homing pigeons instead of a radio. This marked the third time Daryl had been disappointed by the promise of a radio.
In episode 4, “La Dame de Fer” (The Lady of Iron), Daryl is running through the streets of Paris trying to locate Isabelle’s (Clémence Poésy) apartment. He runs into Antoine, who is surprised to see Daryl alive after the previous episode’s events. He informs Daryl that the Guerrier are searching for Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and explains the Guerrier are their enemy, and Laurent is their hope.
Daryl asks for directions as he is to rendevous with Isabelle at her apartment. At that moment, members of the Guerrier appear, and Daryl and Antoine take cover. But when the men take Antoine’s pigeons from the bike he was riding, he runs out to try and recover his precious pets.
This was a bad move on Antoine’s part, and he is shot. Daryl kills the men and runs to Antoine’s side, realizing it is a fatal shot. Antoine begs him to free his pigeons, and Daryl does as instructed. He watches them fly away as he dies. It was a sad end to the pigeon man.
What else has Dominique Pinon starred in?
Pinon is brand new to The Walking Dead universe, starring in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon series. Sadly, his time was short, but he made for an interesting character.
