The fourth episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,  “La Dame de Fer” (The Lady of Iron), picks up where the previous episode left off. This immediately followed Daryl’s fall from a collapsed roof into an unknown building.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 1, episode 4, “La Dame de Fer.”

The recap below is sectioned into good and bad, what’s to come, and standout characters from episode 4.

The Good:

  • Daryl’s dream of Laurent praying as the walkers pass right by him is very interesting and will likely mean something in one of the last two episodes.
  • Daryl made quick work of those two Guerrier.
  • Seeing and hearing the Effiel Tower was impressive. Daryl knew that was where Laurent would be.
  • Daryl hasn’t lost his touch; torturing this man was reminiscent of what he did to Randall in season 2.
  •  How did Laurent know Quinn is his father?
  • Fallou is a wise man who always speaks so poeticly, “Go in as one, come back as one.”
  • Sylvie’s fondness for Emile is too cute. Hopefully, this doesn’t end in sadness for her.
  • Isabelle wants to confess something to Daryl, but he won’t allow it.
  • Azlan is a man who will take Laurent by boat to The Nest.
  • Laurent reads Anna, as he has done with others. She lets him go with Daryl.
  • It is fantastic to see Daryl back in action and to see him kick Quinn’s butt.
  • He can’t kill Quinn in front of Laurent.
  • Daryl will take Laurent to The Nest alone. He is worried about Isabelle’s safety.
  • As sad as it was, the trip down the river was beautifully captured. All of the sites of Paris, including the Statue de la Liberte.

The Bad:

  • Genet blames The Union of Hope for the current “mess” they find themselves in and says Laurent gives them false hope.
  • So sad about the Pigeon Man.
  • Quinn is obsessed with Isabelle and will stop at nothing to have her and Laurent by his side.
  • Would Laurent really shout help in English instead of his native French?
  • Quinn’s men took Laurent!
  • Quinn & Genet meet; he negotiates to trade for Daryl but refuses to give up Laurent.
  • Anna – will she betray Quinn to Genet? (She let Laurent go, either to benefit herself or to tick Quinn off.)
  • Isabelle knows Quinn won’t stop until he has her. She decides to let Daryl take Laurent to The Nest while she returns to Quinn to ensure Laurent’s safe passage out of Paris.

What’s Next?

  • Daryl, Laurent, and Azlan head to The Nest, described by Azlan as a special place, a home for the soul.
  • Isabelle asks God to forgive her for what she is about to do. (what could it be?)
  • Viewers may finally see what happened to Daryl on his way to France.
  • Genet makes a speech of some kind to her followers.
  • The next episode is the penultimate episode of season 1, episode 105: “Deux Amours” (Two Loves) premieres on October 8 at 3 a.m. ET on AMC+ and 9 p.m. ET on AMC.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon characters

Standout Characters:

Fallou is a good leader. He knows how to rally the group; hopefully, we will see much more of him.

Anna is becoming more interesting as time passes. Her role could be vital in the downfall of Quinn.
