AMC has struck gold with the recent spinoffs within The Walking Dead universe. When the flagship series ended, fans were uncertain what the future held but were pleasantly surprised at the caliber of spinoff series the network is creating. The most recent, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, has received rave reviews and became certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The series also surpassed another new series, The Walking Dead: Dead City, in premiere viewership.

Variety reports that the Daryl Dixon series now has the biggest premiere in the history of AMC+. In June 2023, Dead City, the Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) led series, held this title. Three months later, the Daryl Dixon series has beaten this record. Both of the new series have been renewed for second seasons.

Daryl Dixon is quickly pulling in the viewers and is on track to become the highest-viewed series AMC+ has ever aired.

Starring fan-favorite actor Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, the Daryl Dixon series is set and filmed in France. The story follows his journey when he arrives on the shores of France against his will, where he immediately puts into motion a plan to return home.
