The fifth episode of Daryl Dixon, titled “Deux Amours” (Two Loves), is the penultimate episode of season 1 written by showrunner David Zabel and Jason Richman. Daniel Percival, director of the episode, also directed three others including the season finale.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon episode 5 release date
Episode 5 of Daryl Dixon premieres on October 8
AMC+ at 3 a.m. ET
AMC at 9 p.m. ET.
The series focuses on Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) time in France while he makes a plan to return home to those he loves. Being a compassionate person, he has taken on the task of accompanying the nuns and Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) to The Nest, a location where members of The Union of Hope live and where Laurent will be groomed and cared for to become the leader of humanity’s revival.
Without spoilers, the episode begins with Daryl, Laurent, and Azlan (Hassam Ghancy) traveling by boat to The Nest. The episode’s name is from a song used at the beginning of the episode, “J’ai Deux Amour” by Josephine Baker, and as in previous episodes, the music choice adds an air of beauty.
This episode also sees how Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) is fairing now that she has returned to Quinn (Adam Nagaitis). And Genet (Anne Charrier) holds a special event featuring some familiar faces.
This episode is a magnificent one, full of action, intrigue, and fleshing out of Daryl’s story. This episode is the best of the season and perhaps the best of The Walking Dead universe.
