Watch Fear the Walking Dead actress in The Old Ways horror with 95% on Rotten Tomatoes

Brigitte Kali Canales is known for portraying Rachel in Fear the Walking Dead. She is also well known for her roles in S.W.A.T. and Roswell, New Mexico. Another great film starring Canales is the folk horror The Old Ways, which has a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with many ratings praising Canales’ performance as something you won’t want to miss.
The film, directed by Christopher Alender, premiered at the Sitges Film Festival in 2020 and is now streaming on Netflix.
Canales plays Cristina Lopez, a Mexican-American journalist who travels to her ancestral home of Veracruz. She is investigating the practice of witchcraft when she is abducted by locals who bring her to a bruja, a female practitioner of witchcraft). They believe Cristina is possessed by a demon from which she needs to be excised.
Unable to speak the local language, her cousin Miranda translates, and as she learns more about the demon and the rituals, she begins to question if she is, in fact, possessed. She then must face her personal demons, the loss of her mother, losing her culture since moving to the United States, and the other problems she encounters there.
