Fear the Walking Dead will conclude its story with a two-episode series finale on November 19. Next up in TWDU will be the Rick and Michonne spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in February 2024. In the meantime, The Ones Who Live actress Lesley-Ann Brandt, a newcomer to the universe, teased fans with a cryptic social media post.

Brandt joins TOWL as Pearl Thorne, a character Brandt previously described as “VERY South African” who hails from Cape Town. She is likely a member of the CRM (Civic Republic Military), the organization that Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) traded Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

She also shared on Twitter/X that Michonne actress Danai Gurira, as well as Lincoln, were champions in allowing Pearl to be South African rather than French.

"She was such a champion of making her South a African. As was Andy. Originally, the character was written as French but I gave them accent options. Danai went out of her way to ensure authenticity, the Cape Town accent, our POV is very specific. Grateful to her."

Below is the teaser that has excited the fandom regarding “something cool dropping tomorrow.” Could it be an extended teaser? Or perhaps an introduction to Pearl.

The series will see McIntosh reprise her role as Jadis, who climbed the ranks of the CRM and was introduced as Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes in The Walking Dead: World Beyond spinoff. Interestingly, she used Gabriel’s (Seth Gilliam) last name in her identity. He was the last person in The Walking Dead with whom she had a relationship.

Terry O’Quinn has been added to the cast. He portrays Major General Beale, a man mentioned but never seen in World Beyond. A very influential player within the CR (Civic Republic) who is ruthless and cares little for others, which was evident when he ordered the mass killing of over 100,000 people. O’Quinn is well known for his roles in Lost,

Matthew Jeffers has also been announced as a character named Nat. Nothing has been revealed about the character, but Nat will be the first character within TWDU to have dwarfism. Jeffers starred with Gurira in the 2022 Richard III play. In the New Amsterdam series, he has also starred with TWD actress Margot Bingham (Max) and Tales of TWD actress Poppy Liu (Amy).
