The Walking Dead: Destinies gaming experience from AMC and GameMill released the digital format for the game on November 17. Social media is ripe with opinions about the good, the bad, and the ugly concerning the game. While TWD fans bash the look of the characters, some gamers have enjoyed the actual gameplay.
The game’s premise is to create a “What if…?” situation within the TWDU. The game concentrates on the first four seasons, where players can opt to change the course of history by altering who lives and who dies. Who wouldn’t want to see what happens if Shane survived instead of Rick?
Players can travel to many familiar locations, such as Woodbury, Atlanta, the prison, and Hershel’s farm, while selecting a favorite character from the series: Rick, Lori or Carl Grimes, Shane, Merle or Daryl Dixon, T-Dog, Glenn, Michonne, or the Governor. The weapons choices range from Rick’s revolver, Daryl’s crossbow, Carol’s knife, and Shane’s shotgun.
Gamers begin as Rick Grimes when he awakens from his coma to a world overrun by the undead. From there, the narrative can be changed, creating a brand new story. The concept is outstanding, but some say the execution didn’t live up to what was expected.
As a non-gamer, I don’t have an opinion on the gameplay, but the screenshots released have been entertaining.
The Walking Dead: Destinies gets roasted on social media
BLittZ on X did have a positive comment. Let’s begin with that. Click to read the entire thread regarding their opinion on the game.
I'm watching someone play The Walking Dead: Destinies and I'm liking what I see. The game does use stop motion captures however for its cutscenes, but it's a small studio so it doesn't bother me personally. The gameplay looks surprisingly decent though for a smaller budget game. pic.twitter.com/3F2fIj5BDJ

ValemeisterTheStallion believes people shouldn’t be so critical and is still up for giving the game a chance.

Even if a game does not match what you expected it to be there is no need to be so nasty and negative. I still believe the team behind it put effort on it. I’ll give it a try soon. pic.twitter.com/aw4Nbxeqjr
Another X post shows some of the images of fan-favorite characters.

GmanLive wasn’t so kind. He refuses to believe it really is a game but instead a prank by the developers.
I refuse to believe The Walking Dead: Destinies is an actual game. I'm convinced it's an elaborate prank by the developers to see if anyone actually takes it seriously. pic.twitter.com/2aRxPk6s14

Another post asks this question regarding Rick Grimes’ look in the game.
Why did Walking Dead Destinies use the Rark Grames model for their game? pic.twitter.com/QZUqE0s1h6

Amy, like many others, regardless of the initial reviews, is still eager to try The Walking Dead: Desitines.
Honestly, The Walking Dead: Destinies looks so bad, but the kind of bad where I'd be laughing hysterically throughout the entire game, and for that reason, I kind of want to buy it 🤷♀️😂
