Walking Dead alum Jayson Warner Smith promotes new film, Chipper, watch it now

Walking Dead actor Jayson Warner Smith portrayed Gavin, a member of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Saviors during seasons 7 and 8. He was killed by Henry (Matt Lintz), who was enraged at Gavin’s lack of compassion regarding his brother Benjamin’s (Logan Miller) death. Smith’s latest project, Chipper, fresh off its festival run, is now available to rent or purchase.
Directed by Shaun MacLean in his directorial debut, Chipper is a short film starring Smith, who also executive produces. In 2016, Smith was looking for someone local to write a script he could produce and star. Enter in his friends, Lane Skye and her husband, Ruckus Skye. They asked Smith what scares him, and he responded, “My parents getting old.” Within two weeks, they presented a script titled Ashes to Ashes that eventually became Chipper.
The Skyes are talented writers responsible for the thriller Becky, starring Kevin James like you’ve never seen him before. And The Devil to Pay, streaming on Netflix, starring Smith and fellow Walking Dead actor Adam Boyer.
Filmed in Covington, Georgia, over three days, the film’s cast, crew, and financiers are all local.
"After receiving a mysterious letter from his ailing father, Reese (Chipper) Walker, a man who practically lives on his motorcycle, arrives at his childhood home where his father lives with Chipper’s spinster sister Carol. In the letter, his father has revealed a dark family secret that will change all of their lives forever. As pressure mounts, he is forced to make a decision. The most painful decision of his life. Can he do what’s right without destroying what’s left of his family?"

In early 2023, Chipper would begin its festival run, and by November 2023, it had been screened in over 20 festivals and took home numerous awards during its run.
Now, fans can view Chipper in the comfort of their homes by renting or purchasing at Jack Brit Films.
