The Walking Dead Universe has brought fans numerous spin-offs, offering extra viewpoints and additional stories. Most recently, viewers have been treated to the third installment in the Daryl Dixon self-titled spin-off, which explored Spain and some of the Spanish communities that remain. But one spin-off that really stood out was the anthology Tales of the Walking Dead.
The six episodes featured stories that focused on pre-existing characters and new ones. An interesting idea featured in episode Blair; Gina was a Groundhog Day concept that crossed the typical horror genre associated with the franchise into an almost fantasy style. With mixed opinions from fans, one thing that is for sure is that it was definitely something fans had not seen within the Universe thus far.
There is definitely a lot of room for explorable plots if this series were to return. Fans often want to revisit moments that feel nostalgic to them, whilst being open-eyed to seeing how the apocalypse has affected different places. Here are five ideas that, if featured in any upcoming anthology episodes, would be super exciting for fans to engage with.

5. More Milton Mamet
Fans of the mothership show will know the importance that Milton Mamet played within the evolving story. Based at Woodbury during the third series of the show, this intelligent scientist won fans over in the end with his change of heart in putting himself at the hands of the evil Governor in order to try and save not only Andrea, but the wider community as a whole.
There is a lot unknown about this quiet brainbox, including his journey to finding Phillip Blake and his occupation beforehand, although it is likely to have been in a lab or scientific research facility. Seeing this throwback would not only be a major nostalgia trip for fans but may even help us understand his peculiar character.
4. The Animated Dead
Sure, we may have close with the special Robot Chicken episode, but sadly, I am not one hundred percent sure that it is considered canon. With the rise of animated series with an adult focus, a story set within the Universe fully animated would be nothing short of spectacular.
It may even open doors to new boundaries we haven’t seen yet, hopefully not the kind of doors with “Don’t Open, Dead Inside” warnings. The other interesting concept regarding an animated episode is to think about whether we would see old or new characters, as both would work in the fans' favor.
3. Night of the Living Musical
Love it or hate it, musical episodes have been a staple of some of the World’s longest-running series. To see Walkers twisting around doing jazz hands whilst belting out a growl over an orchestral suite is something I actually wouldn’t be overly surprised to see. Especially seeing as Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple has hinted at it previously, I am sure it would be a very wild ride!
2. Julian’s Journey
Moving into more recent territory within TWDU is this idea stemming from a character fans only knew for around half an hour.
During the first episode of Daryl Dixon Season three, we met the subtly funny yet somewhat charming Julian, portrayed by British Comedian Stephen Merchant. Details we gathered from that short but sweet time were that he is self-described as the last remaining survivor in England. We know that he had dreams of being a Sailor, which sadly didn’t come quite to fruition, and he figured out that by ringing Big Ben, it would help draw the Squid away.
There is much within his story left untold, including the alleged level of civil unrest within the country at the start of the apocalypse. But Julian did well to survive as long as he did, it is such a shame his journey with Daryl and Carol was no longer.

1. The Walking Dead meets The Walking Dead
What if there was a parody set within the cast of TWD filming the series, when all of a sudden, there is a real zombie apocalypse? Would this turn who would survive the longest on its head, or would it be the same? That may be quite the subjective topic.
Fans can catch up on Tales of the Walking Dead on AMC Plus, and UK fans can watch the series via DVD with a region one player.
