AMC's home of horror, Shudder, celebrates 10 years in April 2025. The streamer announced a new horror project in the works, Guts & Glory, a horror-based competition that originates from Award-winning special effects artist, director, and executive producer Greg Nicotero.

The six-part series has been greenlit by Shudder with a debut set before the end of the year. Guts & Glory will be unlike any competition show before it, immersing players into a horror experience full of unexpected challenges.

The series is produced by AMC Studios and Nicotero will serve as showrunner and executive produce with Brian Witten, from Monster Agency Productions, Chris Wagner from White Label, and Andrew Molina from Salaryman. Jeffrey F. January serves as co-executive producer.

Nicotero is well known for this work within The Walking Dead universe on the main series and the Daryl Dixon spinoff. He also created the continuation of the 1982 film Creepshow in an anthology series, which airs on Shudder. The series featured 23 episodes, over four seasons, and 2 specials, A Creepshow Animated Special and A Creepshow Holiday Special. Nicotero will also write and direct the pilot episode of the Swan Song series, an adaptation of Robert McCammon's same-titled novel.
